IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION FOR ALL NON-IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS IN NICARAGUA

New parking and shuttle services will be available starting June 17th at Centro Comercial Plaza La Fe, km 7.5 Carretera Sur, Pista Suburbana.

This location offers secure parking Monday to Friday, 6am until 4:30pm.

There will be greeters onsite available to provide information regarding the shuttle, which runs to and from the Embassy every ten minutes. We recommend arriving to Centro Comercial Plaza La Fe 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

The service fee is U$3.00 or its equivalent in córdobas, which includes all-day parking and round-trip transportation, which can be paid upon arrival.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Only our onsite greeters, identified with an official shirt and ID badge can provide this service. Other outside vendors are not affiliated with, nor are authorized by the Embassy

The U.S. Embassy in Managua resumed nonimmigrant visa processing on September 18, 2018, and is currently accepting new immigrant visa cases. The National Visa Center will schedule immigrant visa cases for interviews in its normal priority order.  The Embassy will increase the number of appointments as resources permit.  However, applicants should expect long waits for appointments during the next several months, particularly for business/tourism visa interviews.

The Embassy will prioritize:

  • Services to U.S. citizens (see https://ni.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/ for available services)
  • Immigrant visa cases already pending at the Embassy
  • Emergency nonimmigrant visa services, limited to:
    • Travelers with urgent, life-threatening medical circumstances.
    • Nonimmigrant visa services for students and exchange visitors with program report dates within 30 days.
    • Urgent Business or NGO Travel
    • Funeral/Death

On June 26, 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Presidential Proclamation 9645 (P.P).  Nationals of Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, and Venezuela are subject to the restrictions and limitations. More information is available at this link.
